Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC) in real estate is the total cost a company spends to acquire one new customer whether that customer is a homebuyer, property seller, agent, developer, or tenant. It includes all sales, marketing, and related expenses divided by the number of new customers acquired.

CAC Formula

CAC = Total Sales & Marketing Spend ÷ Number of New Customers Acquired

Example: If a PropTech company spends ₹50 lakh on marketing in a month and acquires 500 new customers → CAC = ₹1,000 per customer

  • Digital advertising costs (Google, Meta, YouTube)
  • Sales team salaries and commissions
  • Content marketing and SEO spend

  • Focus on product-led growth to reduce sales dependency
