A Mission to Redefine Community Living
Homey, a forward-thinking co-living startup, is charting an ambitious path to transform the landscape of affordable and inclusive living in India. With a goal to operate over 10,000 beds by 2027, Homey is set to double its footprint by adding 5,000 beds this financial year and another 5,000 in FY27. This rapid expansion is driven by a vision to create spaces where young minds feel safe, supported, and inspired—regardless of their background.
At the heart of Homey’s philosophy is a commitment to hybrid holistic living and value-based education. Currently, the company manages more than 1,000 beds, with 120 new beds in East Delhi’s Laxmi Nagar under construction and an additional 2,000 beds slated to launch within the next six months. Each space is designed to foster a sense of community, belonging, and personal growth.
Homey’s unique 70–30 business model ensures that 30% of beds are offered free to underprivileged tenants, making high-quality living accessible to those who need it most. In Delhi, the company has partnered with Iskcon Dwarka to lease rooms and set up beds, leveraging the organization’s network to reach migrant populations aged 18 and above, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds.
Homey’s journey is just beginning. The company will debut in Ahmedabad within six months with 500 beds, followed by launches in Pune, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru later this year. Future plans include entering Kota and other key educational hubs within the next 12–18 months, further solidifying its presence as a leader in student and young professional accommodation.
Globally, co-living pioneers like Common in the USA, The Collective in the UK, WeLive in the USA, and Quarters in Germany have demonstrated the power of shared living spaces to build vibrant communities. Homey draws inspiration from these models, focusing on affordability, convenience, and a strong sense of belonging.
As Homey expands, its core mission remains unchanged: to make high-quality, affordable living easy and meaningful for everyone. “Our aim is to create conscious co-living communities where young minds feel safe, supported, and inspired,” says Homey CEO Madhukant Prabhu. “We are committed to inclusivity and community-building at every step of our journey.”
