Aurangabad -The City of Gates
Aurangabad was named after Aurangzeb, the Mughal emperor. The city is the tourism capital of Maharashtra, thanks to the Ellora and Ajanta Caves and the Bibi Ka Maqbara, dedicated to Aurangzeb&rsquo;s mother. These historical monuments are also UNESCO world heritage sites.
The Aurangabad Division or Marathwada region has been titled as the &ldquo;City of Gates&rdquo; as the place has are several gates from the mideval era The city is Maharashtra&rsquo;s sixth largest, after Mumbai, Nasik, Nagpur and Pune.
Transportation
Aurangabad has its own airport, the Chikkalthana Airport which has flights connecting to Delhi, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Mumbai and Pune. Aurangabad is situated in the Manmad-Secunderabad part of the South Central Railways Zone in the Indian Railways. The city enjoys railway connectivity to Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Amritsar, Nagpur, Nasik, Gwalior and Delhi. The Aurangabad Jan Shatabdi Express connects the city to Mumbai and is the fastest one.
Aurangabad enjoys good connectivity to different cities in Maharashtra. The National Highway 211 from Solapur to Dhule passes through Aurangabad. The area is also well connected by roads to Nagpur, Ahmednagar, Pune and Jalna. An express highway connecting Aurangabad to Mumbai and Nagpur is also under construction here.
For commuting within the city, the MSRTC and private buses are available. The Aurangabad City Bus connects major areas of Aurangabad to its suburbs.

Economy

Aurangabad has well-developed social infrastructure to support an urban lifestyle adding significance to property in Aurangabad. There are several educational institutions in the city such as Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University is situated in Aurangabad and has 101 colleges affiliated to it. Schools in Aurangabad are run by the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation which ascribe to the state board. Aurangabad also has its own government polytechnic while the National Institute of Electronics &amp; Information Technology Aurangabad is situated within the Dr. BAM university campus. It is run by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology and offers B.Tech, M.Tech, PhD and DEPM courses.
Several entertainment and recreation zones are there in Aurangabad. The Prozone Mall in the city is one of the largest in India and has popular brands such as Domino&rsquo;s Pizza, KFC and Cafe Coffee Day. There are various five star hotels and a golf course as well.
Aurangabad real estate is suited for a middle class budget as there are plenty of affordable flats in Aurangabad. For 2 or 3BHK apartments in Aurangabad property, one will have to spend between Rs 40 to 60 lakhs. These apartments are in communities with amenities such as swimming pool and gymnasium.
