Bareilly - The City Within A City
Bareilly is a city located in the Bareilly district, and is the capital of the Bareilly division. The city is also a part of Rohilkhand region and 252 kilometres towards the north of Lucknow, the state&rsquo;s capital, while Delhi is 250 kilometres towards the west. It is the seventh biggest metro area of Uttar Pradesh.
Tainted with a history of being a part of the kingdom of many foreign rulers, today the city is famous for its mosques, churches, gurudwaras and temples. And even Miss World 2001 Priyanka Chopra. Transport

The city has a satellite bus stand from which inter-city buses ply. State owned buses going to Delhi ply from Civil Lines old bus stand. Six train stations serve the city, which are listed as- B Ganj, Bareilly Junction, Izzatagar, Bhojipura, Chenheti and City Stations. Bareilly is along the Lucknow-Moradabad route and trains that run from Amritsar and Jammu Tawi to Barauni, Gorakhpur or Howrah pass through here. The Indian Air Force has its own base at Izzatnagar, towards the outskirts of the city. Even though the airport is not open for civil aviation, there are several plans to start one soon.
Economy
Bareilly is home to several traditional industries, which include handicrafts such as zardosi and zari embroidery works, cane and bamboo furniture and agricultural produce like cereals, sugar and cotton. Being equidistant from Lucknow and Delhi, the city had become a centre for trade.
