Bareilly - The City Within A City
Bareilly is a city located in the Bareilly district, and is the capital of the Bareilly division. The city is also a part of Rohilkhand region and 252 kilometres towards the north of Lucknow, the state&rsquo;s capital, while Delhi is 250 kilometres towards the west. It is the seventh biggest metro area of Uttar Pradesh.
Tainted with a history of being a part of the kingdom of many foreign rulers, today the city is famous for its mosques, churches, gurudwaras and temples. And even Miss World 2001 Priyanka Chopra. The Bareilly real estate market is slowly entering the realms of modernism which has led to a rise in upcoming properties in Bareilly for housing the burgeoning population.
Transport
Most of the roads from Bareilly lead to other cities. The intersection of the Shahat Ganj Road and Nainital Road is at Kutubkhana which is also the centre of the city. The other important roads of the city are Chaupla-Chowki Chauraha and Chaupla-Ayyub Khan Choraha Road that branch off from the Lucknow Road and go onto the Delhi Road or NH24. The Nainital and Badaun Roads begin at the Kutubkhana. Heavy traffic is permitted on these thoroughfares only from Chaupla Crossroads to Koharapeer Sabji Mandi. Other arterial roads of the city are Stadium, Macnair and Pilibhit By-Pass Roads
The city has a satellite bus stand from which inter-city buses ply. State owned buses going to Delhi ply from Civil Lines old bus stand. Six train stations serve the city, which are listed as- B Ganj, Bareilly Junction, Izzatagar, Bhojipura, Chenheti and City Stations. Bareilly is along the Lucknow-Moradabad route and trains that run from Amritsar and Jammu Tawi to Barauni, Gorakhpur or Howrah pass through here. The Indian Air Force has its own base at Izzatnagar, towards the outskirts of the city. Even though the airport is not open for civil aviation, there are several plans to start one soon.
Economy
Bareilly is home to several traditional industries, which include handicrafts such as zardosi and zari embroidery works, cane and bamboo furniture and agricultural produce like cereals, sugar and cotton. Being equidistant from Lucknow and Delhi, the city had become a centre for trade. Several government and privately owned companies such as JK Sugar, Bharat Petroleum and Bottling Pants, Kesar Enterprises and the NE Railway Workshop are located in the vicinity.
Post globalization of the Indian economy, Bareilly has experienced rapid development. The mall culture has gripped the city pretty tight. Bareilly has been included in a list of cities known as counter magnets for the NCR. This list also includes emerging metropolises such as Patiala, Hissar, Gwalior and Kota. Property in Bareilly is therefore very high in demand these days.
Lifestyle
The city offers a pretty modern lifestyle as most people live in apartments and villas in Bareilly. There are several upcoming residential projects in Bareilly district that are located close to the city. Bareilly has several educational institutions such as Central Avian Research Institute and MJP Rohilkhand University. The Bareilly College established in 1837 is one of India&rsquo;s oldest educational institutions. Bareilly has ayurvedic, dental and two medical colleges.
Several housing projects by reputed property developers of India are coming up in the outskirts of the city that offer villas in Bareilly to interested investors. Bareilly property attracts investors from all sections of the society. Others can also consider buying plots as there are plenty of such developments going on in and around the city.
Miscellaneous Categories Expansion of NH 24
The NH24 which connects Bareilly to New Delhi, Lucknow, Ghaziabad and Moradabad shall be expanded to four lanes. For this project, two contracts have been awarded on DBFOT (Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer) bases for the NHAI. Plots in Bareilly along this stretch would become more expensive in future and hence it would be the right time to invest now.
