Solapur has its own airport towards the south of the city. However, no carrier operates in the airport.
Economy
Solapur is a leading centre for power looms and cotton mills in Maharashtra. Towels and chadars from Solapur are famous and have received the Geographical indication tag. The city is also home to Asia&rsquo;s biggest and the world&rsquo;s second biggest spinning mill. Being along the South North Railway Line, Solapur serves as a good base for industries in terms of logistics. There are 8986 small and 98 medium industries located in the city. The Siddeshwar Temple is also an attraction for tourists in the district. The Hazrat Shah Zahur Dargah is also located here which attracts thousands of devotees a year.
