AIM Investment Summit 2026 at Dubai World Trade Centre

The 15th edition of the AIM Investment Summit 2026 has opened at the Dubai World Trade Centre under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

His Highness Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, inaugurated the summit on September 7, 2026.

The three-day event brings together policymakers, institutional investors, business leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs from around the world.

This year’s summit features 25,000 participants from 191 countries and 540 global speakers across more than 100 sessions.

UAE Strengthens Its Position as a Global Investment Hub

Speaking at the summit, Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi highlighted the UAE’s growing role in global trade, investment, and international cooperation.

He noted that the UAE’s development model is built around international partnerships, infrastructure, human capital, entrepreneurship, and connections between global markets.

Ras Al Khaimah was also highlighted as an emerging investment destination. Its business ecosystem now includes more than 73,000 companies from over 100 countries, reflecting growing international interest in establishing and expanding businesses in the emirate.

The emirate has diversified its economy across manufacturing, tourism, logistics, real estate, and emerging industries. Its tourism strategy also aims to triple visitor numbers by 2030.

UAE Records Strong Foreign Investment Growth

UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi said the country has established itself as a global hub for trade and investment.

The UAE attracted US$48.3 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) during 2025, placing it ninth globally among the largest FDI destinations.

The country’s cumulative FDI stock also exceeded AED 1.17 trillion.

The UAE’s non-oil foreign trade crossed AED 1.9 trillion during the first half of 2026, highlighting the continued expansion of its diversified economy.

Future Sectors Take Centre Stage

A major focus of AIM Investment Summit 2026 is investment in future-oriented sectors.

These include artificial intelligence, clean energy, climate technology, food and water security, and sustainable infrastructure.

The summit aims to connect institutional capital with emerging markets and high-growth sectors while encouraging partnerships that support technology transfer, job creation, and sustainable economic development.

Ethiopia Highlights Investment Opportunities

Ethiopian President Taye Atseki Selassie, the summit’s Guest of Honour, highlighted investment opportunities across Africa.

He identified clean energy, agriculture, critical minerals, infrastructure, strategic corridors, and human capital as key sectors.

Ethiopia has renewable energy potential of around 60,000 MW and plans to reach 13,000 MW of installed capacity by 2030.

The country is also developing major infrastructure projects, including a proposed international airport valued at approximately US$12.5 billion.

The President also appreciated the UAE’s support for human development in Ethiopia, particularly through the 5 Million Coders initiative.

AIM Investment Summit 2026 is focused on identifying emerging growth markets, strengthening cross-border partnerships, and creating new investment pathways.

With thousands of participants, international policymakers, and global investors attending, the summit provides a platform for discussing the future of investment and the sectors expected to shape global economic growth.
