At the heart of Mumbai’s Jio World Convention Centre, the inaugural World Audio Visual & Entertainment Summit (WAVES 2025) became the stage for a historic announcement the Andhra Pradesh government, in partnership with CreativeLand Asia, will build “Creatorland” India’s first AI-powered Transmedia Entertainment City This visionary initiative, unveiled before a global audience of creators, policymakers, and industry icons, is poised to redefine the future of entertainment, technology, and tourism in India
WAVES 2025, inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, brought together more than 10,000 delegates, 1,000 creators, and 300 companies from over 90 countries The summit’s theme, “Connecting Creators, Connecting Countries,” highlighted India’s ambition to become a global leader in creative innovation The event was a celebration of Indian cinema, digital media, and emerging technologies, with star-studded panels, cultural performances, and masterclasses by industry legends like Shah Rukh Khan, Rajinikanth, Deepika Padukone, and AR Rahman
Creatorland is not just an infrastructure project it’s a bold leap into the future With an expected investment of ₹8,000–10,000 crore over the next 5–6 years, the city will feature
This ecosystem will attract international studios, foster cross-border collaborations, and position Andhra Pradesh as a creative and technological powerhouse in Asia
A cornerstone of Creatorland is its commitment to youth empowerment The Creatorland Academy will train over 10,000 young people annually in VFX, AI, gaming, animation, and immersive storytelling The project is expected to create more than 150,000 jobs across creative, technology, and tourism sectors, providing a launchpad for India’s next generation of digital talent
Creatorland is set to attract global investment, with over 20 international studios already in talks to make India their production base The project aligns with India’s $1 billion creator economy fund and the establishment of the Indian Institute of Creative Technology, both announced to boost the country’s digital and creative sectors The inclusion of a Generative AI Lab and advanced R&D facilities will ensure that Creatorland remains at the cutting edge of global entertainment innovation
Beyond its entertainment and tech ambitions, Creatorland is expected to be a major driver of tourism and economic growth for Andhra Pradesh The city’s world-class attractions, combined with its focus on digital innovation and creative collaboration, will draw visitors and professionals from across India and the world, further cementing Andhra Pradesh’s status as a top destination for both leisure and business
The signing of the MoU at WAVES 2025 was attended by Andhra Pradesh Tourism Minister K Durgesh, CEO of Tourism Amrapali Kata, and Sajan Raj Kurup, Founder of Creativeland Studios Entertainment The presence of a global advisory board, featuring top names from the entertainment industry, signals Creatorland’s intent to foster international partnerships and cultural exchange
