Mega Logistics Park in Navi Mumbai

The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) has officially initiated plans to develop a massive 924-acre Integrated Logistics Park (ILP) near Chirle Village, Navi Mumbai. This project represents a strategic effort to establish the region as a premier national logistics hub by capitalizing on its proximity to critical maritime and aviation infrastructure. By integrating essential social and industrial amenities, the park aims to provide a future-ready ecosystem for trade and manufacturing.

Strategic Infrastructure and Connectivity

The core strength of the project lies in its unparalleled location, which ensures seamless multi-modal connectivity. The site is strategically positioned to leverage several key infrastructure developments that are currently reshaping the Mumbai Metropolitan Region:

  • Port and Aviation Access: Close proximity to the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) and the under-construction Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA).
  • Transportation Links: Direct access to major networks including the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link (MTHL) and the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC).
  • Internal Logistics: A master-planned road network featuring 45-metre and 30-metre wide arterial roads designed to facilitate efficient heavy freight movement.

Pilot Phase: Inviting Investment

CIDCO has launched the project with an immediate focus on an initial pilot phase. Expressions of Interest (EOI) have been invited for a 72-hectare (approximately 179.29-acre) land parcel, which is subdivided into 12 distinct plots. This early phase is designed to attract private investment from warehousing operators, light industrial firms, and logistics providers eager to secure a footprint in this high-growth corridor.

Economic Goals and Future Outlook

Beyond physical infrastructure, the ILP is a key component of the state’s broader economic strategy. Aligned with the Maharashtra Logistics Policy, the initiative seeks to reduce overall logistics costs and attract significant capital inflow into the region. CIDCO intends for the park to create a diverse business environment that includes:

  • Light Industrial Zones: Facilitating localized manufacturing and assembly.
  • Warehousing Hubs: Supporting the surging demand from e-commerce and retail sectors.
  • Container Facilities: Providing space for container freight stations and inland container depots.

Conclusion: A Key Logistics Node

The development of the 924-acre logistics park underscores Navi Mumbai’s transition into a central pillar of India's trade infrastructure. By securing early-stage participation from private stakeholders through the current bidding process, CIDCO is laying the groundwork for a robust, integrated logistics network that will serve both regional and national trade needs for decades to come.
