A Season of High-Stakes Real Estate Transactions
Veteran Bollywood actor Jeetendra Kapoor and his daughter, media mogul Ekta Kapoor, have made headlines with a pair of landmark real estate deals in Mumbai. Following their sale of a prime Andheri land parcel for ₹855 crore, the duo has now parted ways with a luxury apartment in Worli for ₹12.25 crore, signaling a significant reshaping of their property portfolio.
In May 2025, Jeetendra Kapoor and his family—through their companies Pantheon Buildcon Private Limited and Tusshar Infra Developers Private Limited—sold a sprawling 2.39-acre land parcel in Andheri to NTT Global Data Centers and Cloud Infrastructure India Private Limited. The property, home to Balaji IT Park and three commercial buildings with a combined built-up area of approximately 4.9 lakh sq ft, was acquired by one of India’s leading data center operators. The transaction, registered on May 29, 2025, attracted a stamp duty of ₹8.69 crore and registration fees of ₹30,000.
Just days later, on June 8, 2025, Jeetendra and Ekta Kapoor sold a 2,149 sq ft apartment in the prestigious Omkar 1973 Worli project for ₹12.25 crore. The unit, located in Tower A, was transacted at ₹57,003 per sq ft and includes two car parking spaces. Originally purchased in June 2017 for ₹11.52 crore, the sale reflects a measured appreciation and is seen as part of the family’s broader strategy to streamline their real estate holdings.
These high-profile transactions are not isolated. Bollywood celebrities, including Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Subhash Ghai, and Sonakshi Sinha, have recently made similar moves, collectively investing ₹56.1 crore in apartments across Mumbai’s micro-markets between 2016 and 2021 and selling four flats for a total of ₹122.42 crore in January 2025.
Real estate experts suggest that the Kapoor family’s recent sales are part of a deliberate effort to consolidate assets and capitalize on Mumbai’s booming property market. With their vast experience in entertainment and business, Jeetendra and Ekta Kapoor continue to make waves both on and off the screen.
As Mumbai’s real estate landscape evolves, the Kapoor family’s strategic moves highlight the enduring allure of prime locations like Andheri and Worli for both commercial and residential investments. Their story is a testament to the dynamic interplay between celebrity, business, and real estate in India’s financial capital.
