What is a binding estimate in relocation?
A binding estimate in relocation is a fixed-price agreement where the moving company guarantees that the final cost of your move will not exceed the quoted amount, regardless of actual weight, volume, or time taken. Once both parties sign a binding estimate, the price is locked the mover cannot charge more, and the customer cannot pay less, even if conditions change on moving day.
How a Binding Estimate Works
- A surveyor or estimator assesses your goods in person or via video.
- The company provides a written fixed-price quote based on the survey.
- Both parties sign the estimate as a formal agreement.
- On moving day, the price remains fixed regardless of actual weight or additional labour.
