Pofta de Pâine production facility at Lion's Head Logistics Park Bucharest South

Activ Property Services has brokered the lease of approximately 2,000 square metres of production space for Romanian bakery retailer Pofta de Pâine at Lion's Head Logistics Park Bucharest South.

The development is located in the Popești area on the southern outskirts of Bucharest.

The transaction was coordinated by Cosmin Dinu, Head of Industrial at Activ Property Services.

He advised Pofta de Pâine throughout the process, including location identification, technical and commercial assessments and lease negotiations. Operations at the new factory are expected to begin in October or November 2026.

Pofta de Pâine Plans Retail Expansion

Pofta de Pâine was founded in 2017 and plans to expand its retail network to 15 locations over the coming years.

The company is opening two new locations in 2026 and required additional production capacity to support its growth and maintain product quality.

The company selected a larger space in a new building to support its production requirements.

The facility has also been sized to accommodate the retailer's medium-term expansion plans without oversizing the initial phase or unnecessarily tying up capital.

New Facility Allows Bespoke Fit-Out

Bakery production requires specialist fit-out works that go beyond the requirements of a conventional logistics building.

Activ Property Services recommended a building that was still under construction, allowing the tenant's technical specifications to be incorporated directly into the project.

According to Cosmin Dinu, this approach helped reduce fit-out costs and shorten the implementation period.

The ability to incorporate the requirements during construction was an important factor in selecting the location.

Vladimir Gurdjieff, Managing Director of Lion's Head Logistics, said the park's flexible spaces can support different activities, including food production, courier operations and distribution.

Clear Requirements Supported Lease Process

Activ Property Services said the clarity of Pofta de Pâine's operational requirements helped complete the transaction efficiently.

The tenant had a clear understanding of its needs, which helped shorten negotiations and reduce the risk of costly changes.

The new production facility is intended to provide Pofta de Pâine with the capacity needed for its next stage of growth while allowing the company to expand its retail network over the coming years.
