Bollywood actress Amrita Puri, celebrated for her roles in Aisha, Kai Po Che!, and Four More Shots Please!, has made headlines with her family’s recent acquisition of a sprawling luxury apartment in Mumbai’s exclusive Lower Parel neighborhood. According to property registration documents accessed by Square Yards, the purchase price stands at an impressive ₹37 crore.

A Sky-High Address in Lower Parel

The newly acquired residence is perched on the 49th floor of Lodha World Towers, a landmark development by Macrotech Developers-popularly known as the Lodha Group. With a floor area exceeding 5,446 sq ft, the apartment offers breathtaking views of Mumbai’s skyline and access to world-class amenities. The sale, registered on April 30, 2025, included four dedicated car parking spaces, a stamp duty of ₹2.22 crore, and registration fees of ₹30,000.

Lodha World Towers is renowned as one of India’s tallest residential complexes, with the World One and World View towers soaring over 73 floors and reaching heights of 277.6 meters (911 feet) and 280.2 meters (919 feet) respectively. The towers are architectural icons, designed to offer unmatched luxury and exclusivity in the heart of Mumbai.

Lower Parel: Mumbai’s Luxury Hub

Lower Parel has emerged as a prime destination for Mumbai’s elite, offering seamless connectivity to major business districts like Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) and Nariman Point. The area is characterized by its premium residential towers, upscale retail, and vibrant nightlife. According to Housing.com, the average property price in Lower Parel is ₹43,378 per sq ft, with recent years seeing a 13.87% year-on-year rise in rates.

The neighborhood’s allure has attracted a host of celebrities and business leaders. Bollywood stars such as Abhishek Bachchan, Shahid Kapoor, and writer Amish Tripathi, along with sports icon Zaheer Khan, have all invested in Lower Parel, as revealed by Square Yards’ analysis of IGR property registration documents.

Bollywood and Business: A Family Legacy

Amrita Puri’s roots extend beyond the silver screen. She is the daughter of Aditya Puri, the former Managing Director of HDFC Bank, one of India’s most respected banking professionals. This blend of creative and corporate pedigree underscores the family’s stature in both entertainment and business circles.

Amrita herself has carved a niche in Indian cinema and digital entertainment, earning critical acclaim and a Filmfare nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Her versatility and choice of roles continue to set her apart in both mainstream and independent projects.

Real Estate Trends: Celebrity Moves and Market Growth

Lower Parel’s real estate market continues to buzz with high-profile transactions. Recently, Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar sold an office space in the area’s One Place Lodha for ₹8 crore-a property he had acquired in 2020 for ₹4.85 crore, reflecting a 65% appreciation in value. The office, with a carpet area of 1,146 sq ft, was purchased by Vipul Shah and Kashmira Shah, and included two car parking spaces. The deal was registered on April 16, 2025.

These celebrity investments highlight the enduring appeal and robust growth of Mumbai’s luxury real estate market. With premium projects like Lodha World Towers setting new benchmarks for design and amenities, Lower Parel remains the address of choice for those seeking exclusivity and prestige.
