Gulf Air, the national carrier of Bahrain, has signed an investment and transaction advisory framework with Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company (Edamah) to assess its real estate holdings outside the Kingdom.
The agreement will provide Gulf Air with independent valuations and strategic options for its international property portfolio as the airline continues to focus on its core aviation operations and long-term growth.
Under the framework, Edamah will lead an independent, market-based assessment of Gulf Air’s overseas properties. The company will work with licensed specialist firms in each market to evaluate the assets and provide advisory support.
The findings are expected to help Gulf Air make informed decisions about how its international real estate portfolio should be managed.
The framework covers valuation and strategic options, rather than announcing a completed sale or a specific property transaction.
The framework was signed on the sidelines of Gateway Gulf 2026 by Martin Gauss, chief executive officer of Gulf Air, and Khaled A. Rahman AlMajed, chief executive officer of Edamah.
Gauss said the arrangement represents a step in Gulf Air’s efforts to strengthen its focus on aviation and optimise its asset portfolio.
He added that the airline would benefit from independent, specialised expertise to assess its international property assets and support decisions about their future.
Gauss also noted that the collaboration reflects the role of national companies in combining expertise to support Bahrain’s broader priorities.
AlMajed said Edamah’s investment advisory capabilities would help Gulf Air realise the full value of its international real estate portfolio.
The assessment is intended to follow a rigorous and objective approach, with specialist local partners involved in the relevant markets.
According to AlMajed, the framework will strengthen Edamah’s position as a strategic advisory partner and support sustainable economic growth at local and regional levels.
The collaboration also reflects efforts by Bahraini national companies to leverage their respective capabilities in line with the Kingdom’s economic priorities.
The framework establishes an advisory process for Gulf Air’s international property assets. Its findings will inform the airline’s future decisions regarding the portfolio, with no specific sale or disposal announced in the agreement.
