Danubius Hotels is adding a new property to its Budapest portfolio. From October 1, 2026, the current H2 Hotel Budapest will operate under a new name.

It will become Danubius Hotel District V. This brings the chain's total number of hotels to 17.

The 157-room property sits in Budapest's fifth district. It is close to St Stephen's Basilica, the Hungarian Parliament Building, and the Chain Bridge.

Ownership and Operating Agreement

The building is owned by LGT Immo Kft. This company is a member of the Austrian ILAG Group. LGT Immo Kft. has entered into a long-term hotel operating agreement with Danubius.

Real estate advisory firm Newmark VLK Hungary assisted the owner in selecting the operator.

Péter Takács is the Managing Director of Newmark VLK Hungary. He said there was strong interest in operating the hotel from both domestic and international players.

He added that this confirms Budapest's status as a European tourism destination. He noted the property's central location and excellent technical condition make it a strong opportunity for both owners and operators.

What the Companies Said

Balázs Kovács is the CEO of Danubius Hotels Zrt. He said the company has worked for a long time to expand its portfolio with a new hotel.

He added that this step further strengthens the chain's presence in one of Budapest's best city-centre locations. He said Danubius continues to pursue growth in the Hungarian and international hotel markets.

Éva Zupkó is the Managing Director of LGT Immo Kft. She said they were looking for an operating partner with a stable background and strong local market experience.

She added that Danubius offers a solid foundation for the hotel's continued successful operation and development.

Transition Details

The hotel will transition to Danubius on October 1. It will maintain continuous operations during the change.

The hotel's existing team of 20 staff will continue working under the Danubius brand.

The expansion reflects the long-term commitment of Danubius's British owner, CP Holdings, to the chain's growth.
