Sofitel Warsaw Victoria hotel exterior, sold by Essendi to DeSilva Group

Essendi has sold the Sofitel Warsaw Victoria to DeSilva Group as part of its ongoing strategy to reshape its hotel portfolio in Europe. The transaction strengthens DeSilva’s position in Poland’s premium hospitality segment and expands its presence in Warsaw.

The financial details of the transaction have not been disclosed.

The Sofitel Warsaw Victoria is one of the best-known hotels in the Polish capital and has a long-standing position in the country’s hospitality market.

DeSilva Strengthens Its Premium Hotel Portfolio

The acquisition gives DeSilva a stronger presence in Warsaw and adds a prominent premium property to its portfolio.

The group said the investment reflects its long-term commitment to high-quality hospitality while maintaining the character of the property.

The transaction also forms part of Essendi’s wider portfolio management strategy.

The company has been focusing primarily on owned hotels in the economy and midscale segments across Europe while continuing to invest in the quality and performance of its assets.

Sofitel Brand and Accor Management Continue

The ownership change will not affect the hotel’s current brand or operator.

Sofitel Warsaw Victoria will continue to operate under the Sofitel brand, while Accor will remain responsible for hotel management.

The arrangement allows DeSilva to take ownership of the property while maintaining its existing connection with the Accor hospitality network.

Essendi said the sale marks another step in the continued evolution of its European hotel portfolio.

Sofitel Warsaw Victoria Remains a Key Warsaw Hotel

Sofitel Warsaw Victoria is located near Piłsudski Square, close to Saxon Garden and Warsaw’s Old Town. The five-star property has 368 rooms and suites, including 76 Luxury rooms and 33 suites.

It also features restaurants, a wellness area and extensive conference facilities.

The hotel’s facilities include an indoor heated swimming pool, sauna and fitness centre. Its conference offering includes 18 meeting rooms, with the largest covering around 796 square metres.

The sale gives DeSilva a significant premium asset in the Polish capital, while the continued Sofitel branding and Accor management provide operational continuity for the hotel.
