Gauri Khan’s ₹11.61 Cr Sale Reflects Mumbai’s Luxury Boom

Mumbai’s luxury real estate scene is always buzzing, and this time, it’s Gauri Khan, renowned interior designer and wife of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, making headlines. In a high-profile transaction, Gauri Khan has sold her 2,000 sq. ft. apartment in Dadar West’s Kohinoor Altissimo for ₹11.61 crore.

According to property registration records, the sale was finalized on March 28, 2025, with Devendra Chaukar (holding 87.5% ownership) and Vandana Agarwal (holding 12.5%) as the new buyers.

Inside the Prestigious Kohinoor Altissimo

Situated on the 21st floor of Kohinoor Square, the apartment is part of an ultra-luxurious gated community built by Kohinoor CTNL Infrastructure Pvt Ltd. Known for its state-of-the-art amenities and prime location, this project continues to attract high-net-worth individuals looking for world-class living.

With two dedicated car parkings, the deal values the apartment at ₹58,507 per sq. ft.—a strong indicator of Mumbai’s thriving real estate market.

A Profitable Investment Move

Reports suggest that Gauri Khan purchased the property in August 2022 for ₹8.5 crore. In under three years, the apartment’s value appreciated by 37%, reflecting Mumbai’s high demand for luxury homes.

This sale is also strategically timed as the Khan family temporarily moves out of their iconic sea-facing bungalow, Mannat. Currently undergoing expansion and renovation, Mannat’s annexe will take nearly two years to complete. Meanwhile, Shah Rukh Khan has leased two lavish duplexes in Mumbai’s upscale Pali Hill, Khar, for ₹8.67 crore over three years.

Mumbai’s Luxury Real Estate Market Soars

The demand for ultra-luxury homes in Mumbai has been at an all-time high.

  • Over the past three years, ₹7,500 crore has been invested in 49 ultra-premium residences, each valued above ₹100 crore.
  • In 2024 alone, transactions worth ₹3,652 crore were recorded.
  • In the first two months of 2025, four high-end homes were sold for ₹850 crore, as per a report by JLL.

Mumbai dominates India’s luxury real estate sector, accounting for 69% of all premium home sales, followed by Delhi NCR.
