Indore Aerocity Planned Near Airport With ₹600 Crore Target

The Madhya Pradesh government will develop an Aerocity on approximately 11 hectares of land near Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport in Indore.

The project is expected to attract an investment of ₹500–600 crore. It will be developed around 500 metres from the airport and is designed to provide direct connectivity to the Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor.

The announcement was made following an Indore Development Authority board of directors meeting.

What the Aerocity Will Include

An Aerocity is a planned commercial hub developed around an airport, bringing together business, hospitality, residential and leisure activities in one integrated destination. The Indore project will follow that model.

Parikshit Jhade, CEO of the Indore Development Authority, said the Aerocity will allow a mix of:

• Residential developments
• Hotels and hospitality uses
• Office and commercial activities

The proposed development is expected to create a commercial and hospitality hub close to the airport.

Connectivity to the Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor could further improve access to the area as both projects progress.

Separately, an Amusement Park Near Meghdoot Garden

In a separate announcement from the same IDA board meeting, a theme-based amusement park will be developed on 3.83 hectares of land near Indore's Meghdoot Garden.

Jhade confirmed that the blueprint for the amusement park is currently being prepared. No investment figure or delivery timeline was disclosed for the leisure project.

Why Indore Is the Right Market for This

Indore has been one of India's most consistently high-performing cities in quality-of-life and governance rankings, making it an increasingly attractive destination for commercial and residential investment.

The airport handled growing passenger volumes in recent years as the city's economic base has expanded beyond its traditional textile and trade roots into manufacturing, logistics and financial services.

Airport-adjacent development particularly mixed-use projects combining hotels, offices and residential has a proven demand case in cities where air connectivity is both improving and increasingly embedded in the daily business and travel patterns of the local economy.

For the Indore-Pithampur corridor specifically, the Aerocity adds an urban-quality commercial node at the airport end of a corridor that is otherwise predominantly industrial.

That balance between industrial and urban-mixed development is what makes a corridor function as a genuine economic region rather than a single-use logistics strip.

With ₹500–600 crore in anticipated investment and 11 hectares of well-located land at play, the Indore Aerocity project is a significant urban development bet and an early indicator of where Madhya Pradesh sees its next phase of economic geography taking shape.
