The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) is set to launch two new housing schemes, Varun Vihar and Naimish Nagar, as part of its efforts to expand residential infrastructure and meet the city's growing housing demand. The projects will collectively offer more than 3,100 residential plots to homebuyers through an online registration process.
The launch of the two schemes marks another major step in LDA's urban expansion strategy. The authority expects the projects to create new residential opportunities while supporting the planned growth of Lucknow's peripheral areas. The online registration system is also intended to make the application and allotment process more accessible and transparent for prospective buyers.
Varun Vihar is being developed along the Agra-Lucknow Expressway and is among the largest upcoming housing projects planned by the LDA. In the first phase, around 2,100 plots are expected to be offered in the Kailash and Kashi blocks. The scheme is being developed over a large area spread across villages in Sadar and Sarojininagar tehsils.
The township is envisioned as a self-sustained urban development with residential, commercial and supporting infrastructure components. Earlier plans for Varun Vihar also included proposals for logistics infrastructure, green spaces and civic amenities aimed at creating long-term investment and employment opportunities.
The second project, Naimish Nagar, is proposed along the Sitapur Road corridor. The township has been planned to accommodate future residential demand while providing supporting civic infrastructure. The project forms part of LDA's broader strategy to create new growth centres and improve planned urban development in Lucknow.
The scheme is expected to include residential and public-use facilities and contribute to the city's long-term expansion plans by opening up new areas for development.
LDA has decided to conduct the registration process entirely online, enabling prospective buyers to apply for residential plots digitally. The move is expected to make plot allotments more streamlined and improve accessibility for applicants seeking residential opportunities in the two new townships.
The launch of Varun Vihar and Naimish Nagar reflects LDA's focus on creating new residential destinations and expanding housing options across Lucknow. By introducing more than 3,100 plots through a digital registration process, the authority aims to facilitate planned urban growth while meeting the city's increasing demand for residential developments.
