The Ved Vyas Housing Construction Scheme is an initiative of the Department of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Co-operative, Government of Jharkhand. It is aimed at improving the living conditions of active and traditional fish farmers in Simdega district, offering them direct support to move out of inadequate housing.
Under the scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive financial assistance of Rs 1.2 lakh to construct a house. Priority is given to fish farmers currently living in kutcha or thatched houses, ensuring the support reaches those with the most pressing housing needs first.
To ensure more inclusive access to the scheme's benefits, seats are also reserved for specific groups.
To qualify for the scheme, applicants must meet the following conditions:
Applicants also need to submit a set of supporting documents, including a photograph of the applicant, a photograph of their kutcha house, a caste certificate, an income certificate, a residential certificate, land ownership documents, and a fish farming activity certificate from the block development officer.
Beneficiaries are selected on a first-come, first-served basis, making early application important for those who qualify.
The application process is offline. Applicants must visit the District Fisheries Office in Simdega during office hours to obtain a hard copy of the application form.
After filling in all the mandatory details, they must attach copies of the required documents, self-attested where applicable, and submit the completed and signed form at the same office.
Upon submission, applicants should collect an acknowledgement or receipt from the office as proof of submission. The receipt should include key details such as the date and time of submission and, where applicable, a unique identification number, which can help applicants track the status of their application going forward.
Since beneficiaries are selected on a first-come, first-served basis, eligible fish farmers in Simdega district are advised to gather the required documents and visit the District Fisheries Office as early as possible to complete the offline application process.
