YEIDA Allots 973 Residential Plots Near Noida International Airport

Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has allotted 973 residential plots through a draw of lots in newly developed sectors surrounding the recently operational Noida International Airport in Jewar. The allotment highlights the rapidly growing demand for residential real estate in the airport region, which is increasingly emerging as one of the most sought-after investment destinations in the Delhi-NCR market.

The housing scheme, launched in April, attracted an overwhelming response from homebuyers and investors. According to officials, YEIDA received 110,034 valid applications for the 973 plots, translating into an average of nearly 113 applicants competing for each plot. The authority also rejected 140 applications due to duplicate submissions, while another 23 applicants later withdrew their applications.

Strong Competition Across Plot Categories

The highest demand was recorded for the 200-square-metre plot category. A total of 57,620 applicants competed for 481 plots in this segment. The 162-square-metre category also witnessed significant interest, attracting 48,920 applications. Other categories included four plots each of 183 square metres and 184 square metres, which received 566 and 539 applications respectively. Six plots measuring 223 square metres attracted 1,528 applications, while two plots of 290 square metres received 861 applications.

The residential plots are located across sectors 15-C, 18 and 24 near the airport region. The draw of lots was organised at the India Expo Centre and Mart in Greater Noida and conducted manually under the supervision of an allotment committee and independent observers. The process was photographed, videographed and broadcast live to ensure transparency.

Airport-Led Growth Driving Real Estate Demand

Noida International Airport has become a major catalyst for development along the Yamuna Expressway corridor. Commercial flight operations commenced on June 15, while cargo operations began on June 17, accelerating interest in residential and commercial developments surrounding the airport. Officials believe that demand for housing in the region will continue to rise among residents, professionals, investors and businesses seeking opportunities near the emerging economic hub.

Given the overwhelming response to the scheme, YEIDA has indicated plans to introduce another residential plot scheme in the coming days. The authority believes the growing interest in residential plots demonstrates the region's transformation into an important economic and industrial destination with long-term development potential.
