Dar Al Majed Real Estate Company known as Al Majdiah has signed a strategic agreement with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) to design and develop premium real estate projects in Saudi Arabia.

The agreement was signed in London on the sidelines of the Saudi Luxury Real Estate Show at The Peninsula London. Al Majdiah was represented by Muath Al-Khorayef, General Manager of the Business Sector.

SOM was represented by Thomas Behr, a founding partner of the firm.

Why SOM's Name Carries Weight in This Context

SOM is not a conventional architecture firm. Its portfolio includes some of the most technically complex and visually distinctive buildings in the world, among them the Burj Khalifa in Dubai.

Bringing that level of global experience into a Saudi real estate partnership is a clear signal of intent.

The combination of SOM's design credentials and Al Majdiah's local development knowledge is designed to produce projects that compete at the very top of the Saudi luxury market in specification, in architectural ambition and in investment appeal.

What Both Parties Say About the Partnership

Muath Al-Khorayef said the collaboration aligns with Al Majdiah's strategic goal to create luxury developments that establish new standards in the Saudi market.

He added that the partnership incorporates top-tier international expertise to translate the company's "Inspired Life" vision into architectural landmarks, enhancing project quality and boosting the investment appeal of its expanding portfolio.

Thomas Behr said SOM is proud to partner with Al Majdiah, describing the company as a prominent influencer in Saudi Arabia's real estate sector.

He said the collaboration seeks to produce innovative, sustainable designs that enrich the urban environment and support the dynamic, rapidly evolving vision of the Saudi real estate industry.

The Saudi Luxury Real Estate Show as a Platform

The agreement was announced during Al Majdiah's participation in the Saudi Luxury Real Estate Show, where the company was a Diamond Sponsor.

The event ran from 24 to 28 August at The Peninsula London, focusing on highlighting high-end Saudi projects and investment options to international investors, family offices and strategic partners.

Signing a partnership with a firm of SOM's stature at that event in front of an international investor audience is as much a positioning statement as it is a business agreement.

Aligned With Saudi Arabia's Urbanisation Goals

The partnership sits explicitly within the framework of Saudi Arabia's wider urbanisation and quality-of-life agenda under Vision 2030.

Saudi Arabia's real estate sector is attracting increasing volumes of international capital and design talent as the country positions itself as a destination for premium living, hospitality and investment.

For Al Majdiah, aligning its development pipeline with one of architecture's most recognised firms gives it a credible international identity at a moment when the Saudi luxury market is competing for global buyer and investor attention against established destinations in the UAE and beyond.
