Egypt real estate tax filings covering more than 830,000 properties

Egypt has recorded 490,000 real estate tax filings covering more than 830,000 properties during the first two months of its digital tax facilitation programme.

The initiative is designed to simplify procedures and make it easier for property owners to complete their tax obligations.

Taxpayers also created around 612,000 electronic accounts through the mobile application during the same period.

The strong initial response reflects growing use of digital services for property tax administration.

Residential Properties Account for Most Tax Filings

Of the more than 830,000 properties covered by the declarations, around 636,000 were residential units.

Approximately 188,000 were non-residential properties, while more than 6,000 were classified as other establishments.

The digital application allows property owners to submit real estate tax declarations electronically.

It is part of the government's wider effort to reduce paperwork and make tax services more accessible.

Egypt Taxpayers Pay EGP 28 Million

Property owners have paid around EGP 28 million on account of real estate taxes while using the new facilities.

The government has encouraged taxpayers to use the digital platform to complete filing and payment procedures.

The system is also intended to make it easier for owners with multiple properties to manage their tax declarations.

Digital processing can help reduce the time and administrative effort involved in completing these procedures.

Digital Tax Services Support Property Administration

Egypt's Finance Ministry plans to continue improving the mobile application and address issues reported by users.
