Ekta Kapoor discusses her father Jeetendra's real estate investment philosophy and wealth-building strategy

Television producer Ekta Kapoor has credited her father, veteran actor Jeetendra, with helping the family build wealth.

She said he did this through financial discipline, investments in land, and diversification into businesses.

She also said he invested in data centres before they became widely popular. Kapoor described real estate as a reliable investment, calling it "the big brother of any business."

Why Kapoor Backs Real Estate

Kapoor said buying a home offers financial security because it is an asset people can use and enjoy.

She spoke on The Ranveer Show podcast, released on October 10. She told host Ranveer Allahbadia that almost everyone she knows who created wealth in India eventually moves into some form of real estate.

She compared property with gold jewellery. Both are usable assets and investments.

She said you wear gold, while you stay in a house, and the house also appreciates. She called real estate the safest investment even today.

Jeetendra's Wealth Mantra

Kapoor said her father and brother, actor Tusshar Kapoor, have done better than her in the property business.

She praised their financial discipline, sound business economics, and focus on affordable housing. She also said she was excited about an upcoming family project.

She explained that Jeetendra came from a middle-class background. His approach was to save first, then invest.

He put money into land, then other assets, and then learned to run businesses.

Jeetendra's Property Journey

Jeetendra has long been known as one of Bollywood's astute real estate investors. In July 2026, he spoke about a Pali Hill bungalow he bought in the 1980s for Rs 4.25 lakh.

Media reports now estimate it at around Rs 450 crore. He said he spent much of his early life with seven others in a 20x10 foot chawl room.

The bungalow came with a 3,450 sq ft plot. When it was demolished, he said he earned Rs 11.5 lakh from the Burma teak alone.

The family has done transactions worth more than Rs 1,400 crore over the past two years.

The Andheri land was sold through two family-owned firms, Pantheon Buildcon Private Limited and Tusshar Infra Developers Private Limited.

The Worli apartment included two car parking spaces and was sold by Jeetendra and Ekta Kapoor, according to documents.
