Equinox Resort AMAALA Red Sea Saudi Arabia Foster Partners 128 rooms branded residences 2026

Red Sea Global has announced the opening of Equinox Resort AMAALA at Marina Village in Triple Bay.

The resort marks Equinox's second hotel globally and its first outside the United States.

It brings the fitness and wellness brand's performance-focused philosophy to the AMAALA destination on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast, adding a distinctly different wellness proposition to a destination already anchored by Rosewood AMAALA.

What the Resort Contains

Equinox Resort AMAALA was designed by Foster + Partners, with interiors by Rockwell Group.

Both the architecture and interior design draw on the surrounding Red Sea coastline, marine environment and mountain landscape.

The accommodation spans 128 rooms and suites across six categories, including two penthouse suites, alongside 21 branded residences.

  • Indoor and outdoor training space: 704 sqm the largest fitness facility at AMAALA
  • Spa: 1,602 sqm, centred on the Equinox X Circuit a seven-circuit regeneration experience
  • X Circuit treatments: cryotherapy, infrared sauna, hyperbaric oxygen therapy, hydrotherapy and contrast-temperature therapies
  • Four outdoor swimming pools, including a lap pool and a rooftop magnesium salt pool overlooking Triple Bay
  • Access to the AMAALA Marina and AMAALA Yacht Club

Sleep Science Built Into the Rooms

All rooms incorporate Equinox Hotels' sleep science platform.

Circadian lighting, advanced acoustic isolation and precision climate control are standard across the property.

The approach treats recovery as a designed-in feature rather than an afterthought consistent with Equinox's positioning as a performance brand rather than a conventional luxury hospitality operator.

Dining Designed Around Performance Nutrition

Four dining venues serve the resort: Mint + Co, Soho Souk, Sama Ai and EQX Den.

Menus are focused on what the resort describes as indulgently healthy nutrition the same performance-nutrition framing that has defined Equinox's food and beverage offer in its US properties, now applied to a Saudi Red Sea context.

What the Opening Means for AMAALA

John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global, said the opening introduces a distinctive new dimension to AMAALA's wellness offering.

He described Equinox as having built a global reputation around high-performance living and said its presence at AMAALA reinforces the destination's ambition to create a place where wellness, sport and luxury come together in a genuinely differentiated way.

With Rosewood covering one end of the luxury spectrum and Equinox anchoring the performance wellness category, AMAALA is building a hospitality mix that can attract different buyer profiles within the ultra-luxury segment rather than relying on a single brand identity to carry the entire destination.
