GTC Signs 23,000 sqm Lease With City of Łódź

GTC has signed a lease agreement for 23,000 sqm with the City of Łódź.

Under the agreement, the municipal administration will relocate its main headquarters to the University Business Park complex on Wólczańska Street.

The relocation will consolidate 34 municipal offices, departments and branches in one location. Around 1,500 municipal employees are expected to work from the complex, with operations scheduled to begin at the turn of 2027 and 2028.

Municipal Offices to Move Into Two Buildings

The majority of the relocated municipal units will be based in Building A. The Registry Office, including its wedding ceremony hall, will occupy Building B alongside existing business tenants.

The City Hall will also have access to storage space within the complex. University Business Park is located close to Łódź University of Technology and is served by numerous bus and tram connections.

City Services to Be Consolidated

The relocation is intended to bring multiple municipal services together in one complex.

According to City Secretary Wojciech Rosicki, residents will be able to handle several matters at a single location following the move.

These services will include applying for an ID card, registering a vehicle, handling driving licence matters and dealing with issues related to running a business.

University Business Park to Serve New Role

GTC said University Business Park has been part of central Łódź's urban environment for more than a decade.

The company is preparing the building for the operational needs of the City of Łódź and its residents.

The transaction and fit-out preparation on GTC's side are being managed by a team covering leasing, technical and project management functions.

Building Has Sustainability and Accessibility Certifications

University Business Park holds a BREEAM In-Use Excellent environmental certificate.

The complex also has an "Obiekt bez Barier" or "Barrier-Free Facility" certificate confirming accessibility for people with disabilities and other users.

The building is partially powered by renewable energy. It also uses an intelligent platform to measure and manage tenant waste.

Relocation Planned for 2027–2028

The City of Łódź is expected to begin operations from the University Business Park complex at the turn of 2027 and 2028.

The move will bring the 34 municipal offices, departments and branches together in one location.

GTC is managing the preparation of the complex for the relocation, including fit-out activities required for the City of Łódź's new workspace.
