The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority (MHADA) has extended the deadline for applications to its Pune Board housing lottery.
The new deadline is October 22. The extension comes after delays in verifying domicile and income certificates left thousands of applicants awaiting clearance.
This is the second extension for the schemes, which support social and inclusive housing in Pune.
The previous deadline was October 15. The original deadline was September 30.
Applicants can submit online applications under the Pune Board's 15 percent Social Housing and 20 percent Inclusive Housing schemes until October 22.
Shivajirao Adhalrao Patil, chairman of the MHADA Pune Board, confirmed the new date. The lottery covers 4,862 flats across Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad.
MHADA said 3,872 domicile certificates and 2,142 income certificates were still awaiting verification. These documents are part of the eligibility process for the lottery.
Applicants must have documents such as domicile and income certificates verified through barcodes on the MahaIT server.
Only then can they pay the deposit and complete their applications.
Earlier this month, a server failure left more than 18,000 documents pending.
The pending documents were linked to a technical failure in the MahaIT system, not the MHADA website.
MHADA's information and communications technology department followed up with MahaIT to resolve the fault.
The Pune Housing and Area Development Board first set September 30 as the application deadline.
It extended the date to October 15 after technical difficulties affected applicants. The verification problem continued despite that extension.
MHADA had said it would consider a further extension if the server was not restored before October 15. The October 22 deadline is the result.

The application process has drawn strong demand.
Patil said these figures show certificate processing remains a significant task as the deadline nears.
Because an application cannot be finalised until documents are approved and the deposit is paid, the verification backlog directly affects whether eligible applicants can complete the process on time.

As documents stayed unapproved, some applicants repeatedly tried to upload them.
This added to the load on the platform. Several residents also visited the MHADA office for help from officials.
Applicants whose certificates are still pending will now have extra time until October 22.
MHADA must still complete the outstanding checks before finalising the pool of eligible applicants.
No further deadline beyond October 22 has been announced.
