Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has purchased a 3.86-acre land parcel in Lonavala, Maharashtra, for a total consideration of approximately ₹70 crore.
The transaction was registered through three separate conveyance deeds on 4 September 2026, involving land parcels in Lonavala's Maval Taluka and an existing built-up structure of 2,100 sq ft, according to property registration data accessed by Zapkey.
The total consideration is split across three transactions with distinct ownership percentages:
The properties were purchased from Nandan Dhananjay Mehta and Vivaswat Dhananjay Mehta. Stamp duty of ₹4.20 crore and registration fees of ₹90,000 were paid.
Neither Tendulkar's representative nor the sellers had responded to queries at the time of reporting.

Lonavala is one of Maharashtra's most established second-home destinations, situated 100 km from Mumbai and 60 km from Pune.
It draws buyers primarily from Mumbai, Pune and Gujarat, with NRI interest also active. The market is dominated by ready-to-move-in villas followed by bare-shell villas and land.
Monsoon and winter seasons typically see the highest transaction volumes as buyers visit to finalise purchases.
Local brokers say the area has consistently attracted high-net-worth individuals and celebrities looking for weekend retreats and farmhouse investments within easy reach of both metros.
Land transactions at scale like the three-deed Tendulkar purchase are less common than villa sales but represent the market's premium tier for buyers seeking larger footprints with development flexibility.

The Lonavala purchase follows an earlier Tendulkar family transaction from May 2025, when Anjali Tendulkar purchased a 391 sq ft apartment on the third floor of Peninsula Heights in Virar for ₹32 lakh a purchase reportedly made for a staff member.
The contrast between the two deals ₹32 lakh in Virar and ₹70 crore in Lonavala captures the full range of the family's Mumbai-region property activity across different price segments and purposes over the past year.
