STRABAG Property and Facility Services has signed an agreement to acquire 100% of the shares in Brenneka Install SRL and Samivo Instal SRL, two companies within the Brenneka Group headquartered in Bacău, Romania.
The deal, signed on 11 August 2026, marks STRABAG PFS's entry into the Romanian market and extends its European presence beyond its current operations in Germany, Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic and Luxembourg.
Closing is expected by the end of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals.
Founded in 2007, Brenneka employs more than 230 people and delivers a broad range of building services across Romania:
Nearly two decades of operation in the Romanian market give Brenneka established client relationships, local technical expertise and a delivery track record that would take years to replicate organically.
For STRABAG PFS, acquiring that foundation is considerably faster than building it from scratch in a market it has not previously served.

Stefan Babsch, Managing Director of the STRABAG PFS Group, described the acquisition as consistent with the company's Build-and-Buy strategy, adding that Romania represents a market with significant growth potential.
The approach combining organic development with targeted acquisitions allows the group to enter new geographies quickly while maintaining the operational depth that comes from an established local team rather than a newly assembled one.
Brenneka's founders, Mihai Ojog and Lucian-Florentin Vultur, said the combination brings together nearly 20 years of experience and expertise built up in Romania with STRABAG's resources and international presence.
For a building services business operating in a market increasingly shaped by large commercial developments, institutional-grade office and logistics projects and growing sustainability requirements, access to an international group's procurement scale, technical standards and cross-border client relationships is a meaningful competitive upgrade.

Romania's commercial real estate market has expanded steadily over the past decade, with significant growth in office, logistics and retail stock across Bucharest and regional cities.
That expansion has created demand for professional facility management services capable of maintaining increasingly complex and sustainability-focused buildings to international standards.
STRABAG PFS's entry signals that the market has matured to the point where a major European operator considers it worth pursuing through acquisition rather than simply serving Romanian clients from neighbouring markets.
