The Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB) has launched a comprehensive suite of online property services through Bahrain's national portal, bahrain.bh, in partnership with the Information & eGovernment Authority. The initiative marks a major step in the kingdom's ongoing digital transformation programme and aims to simplify real estate transactions for citizens, residents, investors, and property owners.

The newly introduced platform enables users to complete key property-related procedures electronically, reducing the need for physical visits to government offices and significantly improving transaction efficiency across Bahrain's real estate sector. The initiative also supports the objectives of Bahrain's Government Programme 2023-2026, which focuses on service digitisation and public-sector modernization.

Property Registration And Ownership Transfer Now Available Online

The digital platform allows users to complete property registration, ownership transfer applications, application tracking, and fee payments entirely online. Applicants can securely enter required information, upload supporting documents, and submit applications through a streamlined electronic process.

Users can also monitor the progress of their applications in real time, make amendments where necessary, and complete payments electronically through the portal. Access to these services requires Bahrain's eKey or the upgraded eKey 2.0 digital identity system.

  • Online property registration.
  • Digital ownership transfer applications.
  • Electronic document submission.
  • Real-time application tracking.
  • Online fee payment system.
  • Secure access through eKey and eKey 2.0.

Part Of A Larger Digital Transformation Strategy

According to SLRB President Engineer Bassem bin Yaqoub Al Hamar, the launch represents a strategic milestone in the bureau's digital transformation journey. During the past year, the bureau has implemented multiple technology upgrades, including improvements to digital infrastructure, electronic workflow systems, geographic information systems, electronic signatures, and remote customer service capabilities.

The bureau is also implementing a second phase of digital development projects aimed at strengthening integration with government agencies and private-sector stakeholders involved in property registration and ownership transfers. The objective is to create a fully connected digital ecosystem that enables faster, more reliable, and more transparent real estate services.

More Than 26,000 Digital Applications Processed

Bahrain's property digitisation efforts are not entirely new. The SLRB first introduced electronic property registration services through its own website in 2020, allowing users to complete transactions remotely.

The adoption of digital services has grown significantly since then. According to the bureau, more than 26,000 property registration applications were processed electronically during 2025 alone, demonstrating increasing acceptance of digital real estate services among users.

Benefits For Investors And Property Owners

The new platform is expected to deliver substantial benefits for Bahrain's real estate market. By simplifying administrative procedures, reducing paperwork, and accelerating processing times, the initiative can improve transaction efficiency and enhance investor confidence.

For property owners and developers, the ability to complete registrations, transfers, and payments digitally provides greater convenience while reducing delays associated with traditional processes. The system also strengthens transparency through real-time application tracking and secure digital records.
