Lamine Yamal has reportedly acquired the luxury Barcelona mansion once owned by Gerard Piqué and global music star Shakira. Valued at around ₹121 crore (€11 million), the property is located in one of Barcelona's exclusive residential neighbourhoods and has become one of the city's most recognisable celebrity homes. The purchase follows Yamal's rise as one of football's brightest young talents after signing a long-term contract with FC Barcelona.
The estate originally entered the market after Piqué and Shakira separated in 2022. While it was initially listed at a higher price, part of the property was sold separately, reducing the value of the remaining residence to approximately €11 million before Yamal reportedly agreed to purchase it.
Built in 2012, the property spans roughly 3,800 square metres and overlooks the Mediterranean Sea. Large glass façades, landscaped gardens and expansive outdoor spaces form the centrepiece of the estate, offering privacy while remaining close to Barcelona city.
The mansion includes six bedrooms, five bathrooms, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a private tennis court and spacious entertainment areas. One of its standout features is a professional recording studio that was previously used by Shakira during her time at the residence.
Spanish media reports indicate that Yamal intends to renovate sections of the property after taking ownership. The recording studio is expected to be repurposed into a personal entertainment or gaming space, while other areas may be redesigned to suit his lifestyle.
The reported acquisition comes shortly after Yamal signed a six-year contract with Barcelona. The deal significantly increased his earnings and reflects his growing status both on and off the pitch as one of Europe's highest-valued young footballers.
The mansion is located in one of Catalonia's premium residential areas, where demand for luxury homes remains strong. Properties in the locality are known for large plots, panoramic views and privacy, attracting athletes, entertainers and business leaders.
Yamal's reported purchase has attracted widespread attention because of the property's celebrity ownership history and its high-end features. The transaction also highlights the growing influence and financial success of football's emerging generation of stars.
The reported purchase of the former Piqué-Shakira residence underscores Lamine Yamal's growing profile both as a footballer and public figure. With premium amenities, a prime Barcelona location and a notable ownership history, the mansion has become one of the most talked-about celebrity real estate transactions involving a young football player.
