Kuwait Property Sales Hit KD92.8M

Kuwait's real estate market recorded 153 property transactions worth a total of 92.8 million dinars (approximately $306 million) during the five-day period from July 5 to July 9, according to the latest statistics released by the Real Estate Registration and Documentation Department at the Ministry of Justice. The figures offer a snapshot of transaction activity across the country's residential, investment and commercial property segments over the reporting period.

Which Sectors Drove Activity

The private residential sector continued to dominate market activity, accounting for 117 transactions valued at 51 million dinars (around $168 million). The investment property sector followed with 31 deals worth 25 million dinars (approximately $82.5 million), while the commercial sector registered four transactions totaling 16.2 million dinars (about $53 million). Despite recording far fewer transactions than the residential segment, the commercial sector's per-deal value was notably higher, reflecting the larger scale typically associated with commercial property sales compared with individual residential purchases.

  • Total transactions: 153
  • Total value: 92.8 million dinars (~$306 million)
  • Private residential: 117 transactions, 51 million dinars
  • Investment property: 31 transactions, 25 million dinars
  • Commercial: 4 transactions, 16.2 million dinars

How the Governorates Compared

Al-Ahmadi Governorate recorded the highest level of activity, with 45 private residential transactions and 20 investment property deals, making it the most active governorate during the reporting period. In the Capital Governorate, 13 private residential, two investment and two commercial property transactions were completed. Hawalli registered 21 private residential and five investment deals, while Farwaniya recorded seven private residential, three investment and one commercial transaction.

Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate saw 10 private residential transactions and one investment deal, while Al-Jahra Governorate registered 21 private residential transactions and one commercial property sale. Together, the six governorates show a fairly wide geographic spread of activity, though Al-Ahmadi's combined residential and investment volume placed it well ahead of the other five in terms of overall transaction count.

What This Reflects

Private housing accounted for the bulk of both transaction volume and total value during the week, consistent with the residential sector's typical dominance in Kuwait's real estate market. Al-Ahmadi's strong showing, with the highest combined residential and investment activity of any governorate, points to sustained demand in that part of the country relative to the Capital Governorate and other districts during this specific reporting period. The Ministry of Justice releases these figures periodically based on registered transactions, offering a regular gauge of short-term market activity across Kuwait's residential, investment and commercial property segments.
