UltraTech Cement Ltd on Monday reported a 16.8 per cent year-on-year increase in consolidated net profit to ₹2,599.28 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27), compared to ₹2,225.90 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The company's consolidated revenue from operations rose 15.8 per cent to ₹24,648.20 crore in Q1 FY27 from ₹21,275.45 crore a year earlier, marking a strong start to the financial year for India's largest cement maker.
During the quarter, UltraTech commissioned 8.7 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of grey cement capacity, taking its consolidated grey cement capacity to 205.5 MTPA as of June 30, 2026. Consolidated grey cement sales volume increased 12.2 per cent year-on-year to 41.31 million tonnes, while operating EBITDA per tonne improved from ₹16 to ₹1,214. The combination of rising volumes and improved per-tonne earnings points to the company managing to grow output without compromising on margins during the quarter.

UltraTech said it is on track to increase its overall cement capacity to 212.7 MTPA by the end of FY27 and 242.5 MTPA by the end of FY28. The FY27 expansion plan involves adding 15.9 MTPA of capacity through a mix of greenfield and brownfield projects, of which 8.7 MTPA has already been commissioned. This puts the company roughly halfway through its planned capacity additions for the year, with several more projects still in the pipeline.
Planned greenfield projects include Visakhapatnam and Petnikota in Andhra Pradesh and Shahjahanpur in Uttar Pradesh, while brownfield expansions are underway at Patratu in Jharkhand and Pali in Rajasthan. The spread of these projects across four states reflects a mix of new-market entry through greenfield sites and capacity reinforcement at existing brownfield locations, a combination the company has typically used to balance growth with capital efficiency.
With capacity targets set out through FY28, the pace of commissioning over the next few quarters will be a key factor in whether UltraTech can sustain the volume growth seen in Q1 FY27 into the rest of the financial year.
