Greater Noida is preparing for a major infrastructure upgrade that could change daily life for lakhs of residents. The Greater Noida Authority is planning the city's first-ever double-decker flyover at Shahberi, expected to improve connectivity between Greater Noida West and Ghaziabad while unclogging one of the National Capital Region's busiest traffic corridors.
What the Project Will Connect
The proposed project, estimated to cost around Rs 900 crore, is designed to connect the 130-metre road in Greater Noida West with Shahberi, Crossings Republik and NH-9, providing seamless access to the Delhi-Meerut Expressway.
The six-lane elevated structure will be Greater Noida's first double-decker flyover, and by separating different traffic streams, the Authority hopes to significantly increase the corridor's carrying capacity and reduce peak-hour congestion.

Why the Corridor Needs This
Greater Noida West continues to witness rapid residential expansion, emerging as one of NCR's largest housing markets over the past few years, but infrastructure has struggled to keep pace with the growing population.
Narrow stretches near Shahberi and heavy traffic moving between Noida, Ghaziabad and Delhi have made the route one of the region's biggest congestion points.
Developer Reactions
Ashish Agarwal, Director at AU Real Estate, said the flyover reflects how infrastructure planning is evolving to match Greater Noida West's pace of urban expansion, and that the corridor will strengthen the region's appeal for end-users seeking a better quality of life.
Manoj Gaur, CMD of Gaurs Group, said the project addresses a long-pending demand of residents, directly benefiting Gaur City, home to more than 5 lakh residents, and meeting a long-standing requirement for direct connectivity to NH-24.
Salil Kumar, Director at CRC Group, said infrastructure has been the single biggest driver behind the region's transformation, with the flyover expected to ease congestion and improve commuting efficiency by providing seamless access to NH-9, the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, Crossings Republik and Greater Noida.

Benefits Beyond Greater Noida
Aman Gupta, Director at RPS Group, said the flyover, together with the upcoming Noida International Airport at Jewar, could reshape investment patterns across NCR, with Faridabad also likely to gain as improved regional road networks speed up travel between major employment hubs.
Iqbal Singh Sodhi, Director at Karyan Group, called the project a transformative development that will significantly strengthen connectivity between Ghaziabad and Greater Noida West, providing relief to lakhs of commuters and potentially driving fresh investment and capital appreciation across adjoining micro-markets.
What Comes Next
Manish Jaiswal, CEO of Eldeco Group, said better connectivity between Greater Noida, Ghaziabad and Delhi will enhance daily commuting, encourage commercial activity and make the area more attractive for homebuyers and investors.
The flyover also complements ongoing infrastructure upgrades in the region, including the operational 130-metre road flyover and planned regional transit projects.
