Former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has sold an 8,050-square-metre land parcel in Dhokawade village, Alibaug, to CarTrade Tech Limited for Rs 22.40 crore.
The transaction, registered on October 27, 2026, includes two existing residential structures on the property, according to registration documents accessed by CRE Matrix.
The land parcel is located in Dhokawade village, Taluka Alibaug, in Maharashtra's Raigad district. The recorded consideration for the transaction was Rs 22.40 crore.
The buyer, CarTrade Tech Limited, was represented by its authorised signatory, Vinesh Mahabal Kuckian.
The registration documents show that the transaction involved a stamp duty payment of Rs 1.344 crore and registration fees of Rs 30,000.
The sale also included two existing residential structures situated on the land.
CarTrade Tech is an Indian digital automotive marketplace operating platforms including CarWale, BikeWale, OLX India and Shriram Automall.
The transaction documents do not specify the company's intended use of the property or confirm whether it plans any future development.
Alibaug is a coastal destination within the wider Mumbai Metropolitan Region's second-home market. It has attracted buyers interested in land parcels, holiday homes and residential properties outside Mumbai.
The location is approximately three to four hours from Mumbai by road via the Mumbai-Goa highway.
The Ro-Ro ferry service between the Gateway of India and Mandwa Jetty takes around 45 minutes, offering another connection between Mumbai and the coastal destination.
According to local brokers cited in the report, apartment capital values in Alibaug range from Rs 15,000 to Rs 17,000 per sq ft.
Agricultural land prices are estimated at Rs 3–5 crore per acre, while non-agricultural land is priced at Rs 8–10 crore per acre.
Manjrekar's transaction adds to a series of reported high-value property purchases in Alibaug and nearby destinations. In April 2024, Amitabh Bachchan purchased a 10,000-sq-ft land parcel in A Alibaug for Rs 10 crore.
He subsequently bought three adjoining plots measuring 9,557 sq ft in total for Rs 6.6 crore in October 2025.
Other reported buyers include Kartik Aaryan, who acquired a 2,000-sq-ft plot at Chateau de Alibaug for around Rs 2 crore in September 2025. Suhana Khan purchased farmland in Thal village for Rs 9.5 crore in February 2024.
In January 2026, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma were reported to have purchased a land parcel measuring more than five acres in Alibaug for Rs 37.86 crore.
Several developers, including Oberoi Realty, Lodha Developers and Hiranandani Developers, also have land banks in Alibaug.

However, the intended use of the property purchased by CarTrade Tech has not been disclosed, and the transaction does not confirm any proposed construction.
