The Uttar Pradesh government plans to develop a dedicated Singapore City in Sector 7 near Noida International Airport at Jewar, with the project expected to attract investments and support real estate growth in the region.
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) announced the proposal on October 30, following discussions between Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and a 14-member delegation of Singapore industrialists and investors.
The proposed urban development is intended to cater to high-end customers and attract investment from Singapore.
According to YEIDA, the initiative is expected to create opportunities across multiple sectors and contribute to the region's economic and real estate development.
The proposal was discussed during a meeting in Lucknow between Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and the Singapore delegation.
Led by the Singapore Business Federation (SBF), the delegation expressed interest in investing in Uttar Pradesh's industrial and infrastructure sectors.
The plan follows the chief minister's visit to Singapore, which aimed to strengthen investment ties between the two countries. During the discussions, the state government identified priority areas for cooperation around the proposed development.
The proposed Singapore City is expected to focus on several sectors that could shape its commercial and industrial property requirements.
These include multimodal logistics and warehousing, high-tech manufacturing, semiconductor fabrication and electronics.
Data centres, cloud services and artificial intelligence are also among the identified areas.
The development strategy further includes clean technologies such as solar energy, green hydrogen, waste management and water recycling.
These sectors indicate the range of commercial and industrial activities the government aims to attract.
Logistics facilities, manufacturing units, data centres and technology-related infrastructure could form important components of the proposed urban development.
Before meeting the chief minister, members of the Singapore Business Federation delegation visited industrial areas in Noida and Greater Noida.
Officials said the delegation appreciated the state's infrastructure, business environment and investor-oriented policies.
The visitors also reviewed projects including Film City, Toy Park, Apparel Park, Medical Devices Park and the proposed semiconductor cluster in Greater Noida and the YEIDA region.
The discussions covered opportunities across manufacturing, logistics, technology and urban planning, indicating the broad investment interests associated with the proposed Singapore City initiative.
During the meeting, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath stated that Uttar Pradesh accounts for around 55% of India's total mobile phone production and 60% of its electronic component manufacturing, according to the state government's statement.
The government presented the state's manufacturing activity and infrastructure projects as part of its investment proposition to Singapore businesses.
The proposed cooperation also covers hospitality, green energy and advanced technology sectors.

The proposed development could create demand for industrial, logistics, technology and commercial properties around Sector 7 and the wider YEIDA region if the planned investments materialise.
Warehousing, semiconductor manufacturing, electronics production and data centre projects are among the sectors identified for cooperation.
The proposal also places urban planning and hospitality within the investment framework. However, the announcement does not specify the project's land area, development timeline, investment value or individual project allocations.
These details will be important in understanding the eventual scale of its real estate impact.
