STT Global Data Centres India Private Limited has acquired an industrial land parcel in Navi Mumbai for ₹282 crore to develop a new data centre facility. According to property registration documents accessed through CRE Matrix, the transaction involves a land parcel measuring 14,093 square metres along with an existing built-up structure of 6,828 square metres located in the TTC Industrial Area, Mahape.

The property was acquired from Mumbai-based publishing services company Repro India Limited through a Deed of Assignment executed on May 22, 2026. Official records show that the transaction attracted a stamp duty payment of approximately ₹2.56 crore and was registered on the same day.

Navi Mumbai Continues to Emerge as a Data Centre Hub

The latest acquisition highlights the growing importance of Navi Mumbai as one of India's leading destinations for digital infrastructure investments. Industry experts attribute the region's popularity to its robust power infrastructure, strong fibre connectivity network, and the availability of large industrial land parcels suitable for hyperscale data centre developments.

The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) has consistently attracted significant investments from global technology and cloud infrastructure companies. According to a recent Knight Frank India report, Mumbai remains the country's largest data centre market, accounting for nearly 47% of India's operational IT capacity by the end of 2025. The report also identified Navi Mumbai and Chandivali as key growth corridors for future data centre expansion.

Growing Demand for Digital Infrastructure

The acquisition comes amid increasing demand for data storage and cloud computing infrastructure across India. The rapid adoption of digital services, artificial intelligence applications, and enterprise cloud solutions has accelerated the need for additional data centre capacity, particularly in major metropolitan regions.

STT Global Data Centres, which operates multiple facilities across India, continues to strengthen its presence in the Mumbai market through strategic land acquisitions. The newly acquired site is expected to support the company's long-term expansion plans and cater to the growing requirements of enterprise and hyperscale customers.
