IKEA India will open its second Bengaluru store on November 5, 2026, at Purva Zentech on Kanakapura Main Road.
The 80,000-square-foot store is located within walking distance of Konanakunte Cross Metro Station and expands the Swedish furniture retailer's presence in South Bengaluru.
The new store is designed to bring IKEA's shopping experience closer to customers in South Bengaluru and neighbouring areas.
The company said its expansion builds on its existing e-commerce operations and its first Bengaluru store in Nagasandra.
The store will offer more than 5,200 products for customers to explore, with over 3,000 available for immediate takeaway.
Customers can order the full range of more than 7,000 products through the store, IKEA's website, its app and its Shop by Phone service.
The location also includes a 100-seat IKEA Restaurant serving Swedish favourites and local food options. These facilities combine retail and dining within the same commercial destination.
The store's proximity to Konanakunte Cross Metro Station is a notable feature of its location. IKEA said it aims to make shopping more convenient for customers while improving accessibility for employees.
Retail developments near public transport can serve customers who prefer not to travel by private vehicle.
In this case, the company has specifically highlighted the store's walking-distance connection to the metro as part of its accessibility strategy.
For commercial real estate, the opening illustrates how retailers consider transport access when selecting store locations. The impact on surrounding property demand or prices, however, cannot be established from the store announcement alone.
The 80,000-square-foot store adds a large-format retail destination to the Kanakapura Main Road area.
Its product range and restaurant are intended to serve customers looking for furniture, home accessories and related shopping options.
Large retail outlets can become part of a neighbourhood's commercial offering by attracting shoppers and supporting associated services.
The extent of any wider effect on nearby businesses or property values depends on customer footfall, local demand and other market conditions.
The store's opening also provides an example of how established retailers are expanding their physical presence alongside online sales. Customers will be able to browse products in person while using digital channels to access IKEA's wider range.
IKEA began its Bengaluru operations through e-commerce in 2021 and opened its first store in the city in 2022. According to the company, Bengaluru has more than 900,000 IKEA Family members.
Across India, IKEA reaches more than 300 million visitors through its online and offline channels and has a community of over three million IKEA Family members.
The company has also outlined an expansion target of 30 stores in India by 2030.
In August 2026, IKEA India CEO Patrik Antoni said the retailer planned to add 22 stores over the following four years, building on the eight stores opened since its first Indian outlet in Hyderabad in 2018.
Antoni said IKEA prioritises locations close to metro stations and other public transport hubs. The Kanakapura Main Road store reflects this stated approach to accessibility and the company's broader expansion strategy.

The new IKEA outlet adds to the retail infrastructure available in South Bengaluru and places a large-format shopping destination close to a metro station.
For the commercial real estate sector, it highlights the relationship between retail site selection, transport connectivity and access to residential catchment areas.
While the opening may strengthen the area's retail offering, the announcement does not provide evidence of changes in local property prices, rental values or residential demand.
Any such effects would need to be assessed using local real estate market data.
