What is PMAY-U 2.0

PMAY-U 2.0 builds on the original PMAY-U, launched in June 2015 under the Housing for All mission.

The new phase aims to address the housing needs of 1 crore additional eligible EWS, LIG and MIG families in urban India, with an annual household income limit of Rs 9 lakh.

The scheme has four components: Beneficiary Led Construction (BLC) for those building homes on their own land; Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP) for homes developed through public or private partnerships; Interest Subsidy Scheme (ISS) for eligible home loans; and Affordable Rental Housing (ARH) for rental accommodation.
