The Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (Auda) has generated Rs 871.2 crore by selling three plots over three days, with two transactions setting new price records.
A residential plot in Kathwada fetched Rs 697.5 crore, the highest amount ever recorded for a single plot auctioned by Auda or the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC). A commercial plot in Thaltej achieved a record price of Rs 4 lakh per square metre.
Auda conducted the e-auction between October 21 and 23, offering 16 plots across Thaltej, Bopal, Chandkheda and Kathwada. The plots had a combined base price of Rs 1,415 crore. However, only three plots attracted buyers during the auction.
The authority will submit the auction results to its board for approval. The sale deeds will be executed after the approval process is completed.
The largest transaction involved a 73,428-square-metre residential plot in Kathwada, purchased by a chemical group company.
Auda had set the base price at Rs 65,000 per square metre, with a total reserve value of Rs 477.2 crore.
The successful bid reached Rs 95,000 per square metre, taking the final sale value to Rs 697.5 crore.
This was Rs 220.2 crore above the plot's base price. The transaction established a new record for the highest value achieved by a single plot auctioned by Auda or AMC.
A commercial plot in Thaltej recorded the highest price per square metre among the three transactions. A pharmaceutical company purchased the 2,581-square-metre property for Rs 105 crore.
The plot's base price was Rs 2.8 lakh per square metre, and its reserve value was Rs 72.2 crore.
The winning bid reached Rs 4 lakh per square metre, exceeding the reserve price by Rs 32.7 crore.
The third successful transaction took place in Bopal, where a private builder purchased a 4,104-square-metre commercial plot for Rs 68.6 crore.
Auda had set its base price at Rs 1,12,300 per square metre, giving the property a valuation of approximately Rs 46 crore.
The winning bid reached Rs 1,67,300 per square metre, generating an additional Rs 22.5 crore above the base valuation.
The buyer told media reports that the land would be used for a commercial project in the future.

The property attracted three bidders before a shopping mall company secured it at Rs 78,500 per square metre.
A senior AMC official stated that the corporation had sold 30 plots over the preceding two years, generating Rs 3,134.9 crore.
